 Below is a full list of features which are included in the system. Web Page Content: - Content authors can create new website pages, edit existing pages and delete old pages. Pages can be 'approved' and made LIVE or 'unapproved' to be stored within the system but not made LIVE. The number of pages you can have in your site is unlimited and totally under your control!
- Content is created and formatted using an icon-based toolbar similar to Microsoft Word. Features include creating tables and forms, changing text colour, size and style, creating your own custom text styles, inserting images, Flash animations and Video, plus much more. The content editor also supports the latest XHTML standards.
- Tag individual pages with Search Engine friendly META data to help identify pages in Search Engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN. META tagging includes additional Page Title data, Page keywords and Page descriptions.
- Special "Copy and Paste" features to accept and clean content copied in from Microsoft Word and other documents.
News Page Content: - Create unlimited News Categories and News Articles to help organise your Club's regular postings, including Latest News, Press Releases, Promotions and Special Offers, Competition Schedules and Competition Results, Social Events, and more.
- All articles can be scheduled to appear and expire on your website within dates you specify. For example: you can create your Competition calendar a year in advance and then schedule the system to automatically display relevant competitions for that month and then automatically remove them when they expire.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs): - Golfsoft comes complete with its own FAQs system allowing you to simply create a library of reference material for your members and guests. This is perfect for answering the more commonly asked questions relating to your Club, its facilities or even general golf rules and regulations.
- Organise your FAQs into your own categories, such as General Information, Membership, Rules and Regulations, etc.
ImageStore: - Golfsoft has its own central repository for Images, Video, PDF or Word documents, and other digital material which you would like to make accessible to your content authors for use on your website.
- You can use the ImageStore to select and upload images and other digital files from your own PC directly into Golfsoft without any additional software or installs required.
- Organise your digital files by creating specific folders within ImageStore and uploading your files into them directly or by deleting files that are no longer required.
- Pages and News items can link directly into ImageStore allowing you to place images and documents into your page content.
Announcements and Broadcasts: - Publish general announcements, similar to a bulletin board, to make members or guests aware of last minute changes to events, competition schedules, playing conditions, or course closures, etc.
- Announcements can be scheduled to appear and expire on specific dates set by the content author.
Secure Members Areas and Members Only Content: - Create secure Pages and News Articles which are only visible to those with appropriate login details. Perfect for separating Members and Guest content.
Polls: - Golfsoft comes complete with its own Polls generator, allowing content authors to attach a Poll or Survey to any Page or News Article within the website.
- Each Poll can have an unlimited number of questions and each question can have up to 10 possible answers.
- Content Authors can choose to set different features for each Poll, including allowing or disallowing multiple votes, allowing users to view results either before or after voting, etc.
- Polls can be scheduled to appear and expire on specific dates set by the content author.
- Content authors can view results of each Poll within the administration area, including the total number of votes and a graphical percentage breakdown of answers for each question within the Poll. Results can be printed out directly.
Multilingual Support: - Golfsoft has full multilingual support, allowing you to create your site content in a wide variety of languages.
- Simply add into the system which languages you wish to support, your translated content can then be added to each Page, News Article and FAQ within the site. Multilingual Polls are not currently supported.
Accessibility and Text Only Website: - Golfsoft also comes with a Text Only version of your website which is WAI (Web Accessibility Initiative) compliant.
- Ensuring your website is accessible to disabled and visually impaired users is a legal requirement for ALL websites as stated in the (DDA) Disability Discrimination Act. Not very many people are aware of this legal requirement. Golfsoft provides this service as standard.
- The maintenance of your Text Only website is handled automatically by the system. When you update a Page, add a News Article or FAQ, the system updates both the Graphical and Text Only websites at the same time.
RSS Golf Feeds Directly Onto Your Website: - Golfsoft automatically integrates with RSS (Rich Site Summary or Really Simple Syndication) News Feeds from the world of Golf and brings these daily updates to your own website and website audience.
- Golf Feeds are available from BBC Sports, Fox Sports and About.com - you choose which you want to add to your website.
- RSS Feeds are a perfect way to offer up-to-the-minute information about the latest PGA, LPGA and Senior Pro Tours. Tour player news and the latest from golf equipment manufacturers are also available.
- RSS Feeds are self updating which means that, once you have decided to add a feed to your site, new articles appear automatically every day!
System Tools: - Administrators can create as many separate content authors as required. Create one author account or a separate account for each member of your staff.
- The System Administrator can lock or delete any content author account, or reset login details.
- Golfsoft automatically logs all admin activity, capturing who logged in, what time and which IP Address they were using at the time (i.e. an office PC or a home PC, etc).
- Content Authors and Administrators have access to Golfsoft's online help and training Podcasts. These are designed to help you get the most out of Golfsoft and demonstrate, through screenshots and audio, how to perform certain Editorial and Administrative tasks.
